Southwestern ~Turquoise, Coral, Silver ~ Handcrafted Lampwork ~ Handmade Wearable Art Necklace.

My lampwork glass beads mixed with sterling silver, coral shell beads and turquoise beads. Wow...Southwestern or what....

The Intergalactic Bead & Jewelry Show was in my area this weekend.

Some really nice seed beads and non tarnish artistic wire.
I love these magnetic clasps and the leather cord...also got some stretchy cord.

Grapes, Lavender and Basil ( catnip too)

Basil is easy to grow. I just threw some basil seeds in this pretty clay pot and look how beautiful it is.
Lavender growing ...looking healthy and happy..

Yay...some grapes are coming on my grape vines..
Don't forget some catnip too...( my cat rolls in it~)

Kumihimo Bracelet in teal and white

Yesterday I took a Kumihimo beading class and finished this bracelet in five hours. It took lot of concentrating and I was happy there was a teacher there to help me out !
"Kumihimo" is the Japanese style of braiding fibers into cords. It basically consists of arranging threads on a braiding loom, then moving the threads in patterns.

My project for this week is finished ~ Love it !

I put so much time, patience and thought into these pieces. I must admit it was frustrating to get the look I was after. The weather was extremely hot when I made these beads. Out of the many I made, these were the best. Now that it's put together and photographed, I am amazed how great it looks.
Maybe there is a lesson here..Some things take time to turn out great...Don't give up til you're satisfied...When you let go, pretty things happen ~

Funky Glass Beads Handmade Lampwork Jewelry Wire Wrapped

I like the look of wire wrapped around glass beads and swarovski crystals. The feeling of wire in my hands bending around smooth glass beads...then bending around faceted crystals....finishing the look at the top ....bending it near the loop of the ear wires.  There has to be a free flowing feel going on when I make these type of earrings. Either it flows or it doesn't. If it doesn't, I snip the wire off and start all over again. If it does...then the finished piece is photographed outdoors to capture the best lighting..

My handmade glass lampwork beads surrounded by swarovski crystals and wire wrapped....Love the flow of the wire when it wraps around the beads and crystals.Mixing different elements makes for an interesting piece of work.

Glass Bead Lampwork Earrings..Delicate,sparkle,shine..

I love the color combination here, ~ soft periwinkle blue with transparent purple. The flower bead caps add a delicate feeling and the swarovski crystals add the sparkle. Finished off with sterling silver french ear wires for extra shine ~

Deep Ruby Red Lampwork Glass

Handmade lampwork glass beads with swarovski crystals. I used deep red glass for the beads and added periwinkle blue dot designs with a drop of clear for that extra "pop."

Try wearing your big hole lampwork bead as a necklace

I made this bead by adding thin layers of glass, then the raised dot designs.

Hibiscus Syriacus & Hibiscus Moscheutos Luna White

Rose-of-Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus)

Rose-of-Sharon, also known as Althea, is a commonly planted ornamental large shrub or small tree.

Hibiscus Moscheutos Luna White

Hibiscus” refers to more than 200 species of plants belonging to the mallow family, which includes Rose of Sharon. When most people talk about hibiscus plants, however, they mean the large, ornamental tropical flowers that live only as houseplants in cooler climates, or the “hardy to zone 4” species that are garden perennials.

Taken (my garden) to show the massive size of the Hibiscus flower.
